Generous support from the community (North Saanich and beyond!) is making a difference! Donations from Repair Café visitors have enabled RCNS to provide financial support to the following groups:
Compassionate Resource Warehouse – whose mission is to gather and provide resources for international relief. They collect the clean pill bottles we amass and send them to countries where they are in short supply.
Compost Education Centre – reconnects people, young and old, to simple, land-based, resiliency practices.
Cycling Without Age – making cycling available to those who otherwise could not get out to have fun riding a bike, see the sights, or experience their community..
Deep Cove Elementary School – for its support in providing RCNS with it’s current home and support for their environmental projects.
LifeCycles Project Society – improving community health by bringing people together to grow, harvest and share local foods.
Mount Newton Loan Cupboard – supports citizens living on the Saanich Peninsula by loaning health equipment.
Peninsula Streams Society – helps coordinate restoration and habitat conservation projects throughout Greater Victoria, BC.
Rotary Sidney by the Sea – food hamper program.
Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank – supporting members in our community.
Sandown Centre for Regenerative Agriculture – non-profit operating 83 acres of farm, meadow, forest & wetland.
Sea Change – education, conservation, and restoration of the marine environment.
St. John’s United Church – for its support in providing RCNS with it’s first home base.
Teen Advisory Group – Sidney/North Saanich branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library.
Future donations will be made to local, non-profit organizations and community charitable groups, especially those with a “Fix-it, Don’t toss it” mandate and/or a zero waste philosophy.
